In the spirit of the 60th anniversary of Dr Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech, Night of Ideas Atlanta 2023 explored how the historical concept of rights opens the present to new political, cultural, and ethical possibilities. At the Night of Ideas Atlanta 2023, we explored the National Center for Civil and Human Rights and enjoyed an educational and uplifting evening of talks and performances with academics, activists, artists, journalists, and thought leaders exploring the challenges of the present and the future and connecting the civil rights movement's history to the ongoing fight for justice and equality. Thanks to the Atlanta Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, and Villa Albertine for a lovely night.
