Comedian Kenan Thompson Announces 2023 Young Stars 360 National Talent Search

Award-winning actor, comedian, and producer Kenan Thompson announced today his 13th annual Young Stars 360 national talent search.
​Co-created by Executive Producer, Cherie Chiles-Buchanan of Simply C Productions, and in partnership with the iconic Hard Rock International, Young Stars 360 will embark on a 12-city tour to discover and showcase extraordinary talents among youth aged 5 to 17.
The series will allow young talent to highlight their special abilities, whether it be in performing arts, media, or entrepreneurship, in front of prominent network executives, influencers, and entertainment professionals.
With a mission to illuminate the brightest young talents of tomorrow, the program empowers talented youth and their parents with a multi-tiered platform, designed to guide them through the nuances of the entertainment industry, enhance their portfolios, provide them with valuable industry insights, helping take their careers to the next level.
The national talent search will kick off at the Hard Rock Cafe in New Orleans on April 1 st , followed by stops in major cities including Atlanta, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City, and more.

Mayor Andre Dickens has officially announced the lineup for the 2023 Atlanta Jazz Festival.  
​The Atlanta Jazz Festival (hosted by the City of Atlanta) is celebrated the entire month of May at several venues in Atlanta.  The festival ends with multiple concerts on Memorial Day Weekend at Piedmont Park in Atlanta.

The Atlanta Jazz Festival is free and open to the public.

The Atlanta Jazz Festival's mission is to expose and entertain a diverse audience of Jazz aficionados, young Jazz enthusiasts, and aspiring musicians to the rich heritage and variety of Jazz as an authentic form of American music.

​The Pink Awards is an iconic event that brings breast cancer awareness and black excellence to the center stage, bringing together premiere influencers, celebrities, and wellness advocates to celebrate life, strength and survival.
​The 2023 Pink Awards were hosted by actors Carl Anthony Payne II and Malik Yoba.  This years' Pink Awards honorees included, Dallas Austin, Elisabeth Omilami, Jermaine Dupri, Pastor Jamal Bryant, and Ricki Fairley, for their stellar accomplishments and valued work in the community.
​When We Speak TV would like to thank April Love, Founder of the Pink Awards, for her strength, courage, and dedication of using her testimony to bring awareness and shine a light on the devastating life threatening disease.

Anita Baker: 40th Anniversary: The Songstress Tour: With Babyface, February 14 2023

Anita Baker has brought grace and class to every performance since her teenage days honing her three-octave vocal range at Detroit nightclubs. After gaining more experience on the stage with the Detroit funk band Chapter 8, she set off on a solo career in the early 1980s. 

She hit it big with such romantic classics as "Sweet Love" and took the world by storm, starting with her first headlining stint, The Rapture Tour, in 1986. Over the next decade, Baker kept conquering the charts as well as stages around the world, until 1994-95's Rhythm of Love tour. 

After a long hiatus, she came back strong in 2004 after signing to Blue Note Records, and she became a regular on the road once again. In January 2018, she announced her retirement, but not before saying goodbye with a bang with her hugely successful Farewell Concert Series tour. More details

Egypt and Mike are back for Season 2 of their HGTV hit series, Married To Real Estate on Thursday, Jan 12th at 9PM ET/PT.
​A dynamic duo both in life and work, powerhouse real estate broker and designer Egypt Sherrod and her husband, expert builder Mike Jackson, will return for a new 12-episode season of their HGTV breakout hit series Married to Real Estate on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 9 p.m. ET/PT and available to stream on discovery+.
​The compelling couple—who inspired 19 million season one viewers with their positive perspective on running successful property businesses, managing a home and raising three daughters—will help more families buy houses with potential in their ideal Atlanta neighborhoods and transform them into stunning dream homes. Drawing from her experience as the star of HGTV’s Property Virgins and Flipping Virgins, Egypt will employ her knowledge of the real estate market and financial prowess to find their clients affordable houses in desirable locations and manifest her design expertise to reimagine the spaces. Then, Mike will execute the breathtaking renovations that deliver an increased home value and return on investment, finding solutions to any construction problem and staying on budget.

Atlanta Black Pride Weekend, the country's leading LGBTQ+ annual pride prepares for its 26th year with an exciting line-up during the 2022 Labor Day holiday weekend taking place in Atlanta, GA. 2022 also marks the addition of the inaugural, Atlanta Black Pride Weekend Film Festival held at IPIC Theaters on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 1-10 PM. The five-day Pride Celebration will include special appearances by: Kandi Burruss, Jussie Smollett, Joseline Hernandez, Natalie Nunn, Stasha Sanchez, Saucy Santana, Latto, Jhonni Blaze, Erica Banks, Jerrie Johnson, Melissa “DJ M” Scott and more.
Headlining this year's 10th annual Pure Heat Community Festival are 2022 honorees Joseline Hernandez (“Joseline’s Cabaret”), Kandi Burruss (“Real Housewives of Atlanta”) and Jussie Smollett (“Empire”). Burruss will receive the annual Humanitarian award; Natalie Nunn (“BADDIES SOUTH”) will receive the all-new Pioneer award; Stasha Sanchez (“Legendary”) will receive the annual ICON award. Hernandez will receive the Trailblazer award; Smollett will receive the first-ever Alvin Ailey Trailblazer Award.
