Bounce, the nation’s popular entertainment television network serving African Americans, will present the 30th Anniversary Bounce Trumpet Awards -- a night of inspiration, history and crowd-rousing performances celebrating African American achievements and contributions -- on Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 17, at 8 p.m. ET.

The 2022 Bounce Trumpet Awards will honor:

  • Courtney B. Vance (Excellence in Entertainment Award): Vance’s debut in “Hamburger Hill” launched a prolific cinematic career that includes “The Hunt for Red October,” “The Preacher’s Wife” and “The Adventures of Huck Finn.” His work in television includes “The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story” for which he won an Emmy, Critics Choice and NAACP Image award.

  • Tyrese Gibson (Luminary Award): Gibson is a popular R&B singer, songwriter, actor, author, television producer and model, well known on the screen for his role as Roman Pearce in the “The Fast and Furious” movie franchise.
  • Zaila Avant-garde (Rising Star Award): The Louisiana native was the 2021 Scripps National Spelling Bee winner and the first Black American to win the academic competition. She also holds three basketball-related Guinness World Records.
  • Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff (Xernona Clayton Award of Distinction):The Senators from Georgia will be honored with this award, named after the founder of the Trumpet Awards, for succeeding against immense odds, fighting for change and working to improve the lives of all. Warnock has served as senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta for over 15 years (the former pulpit of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.). Ossoff was mentored by civil rights legend and former Trumpet Award honoree Congressman John Lewis.
  • Princess Sarah Culberson (Impact Award): This award is given for demonstrating tremendous vision, leadership and innovation that has led to a positive impact on the community. Culberson and her brother founded the non-profit Sierra Leone Rising, which distributed aid during the 2014 Ebola outbreak and 2020’s COVID-19 crisis and continues to raise funds for community growth.
The gala event will take place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on Saturday, Jan. 15.

2021 Bronner Bros International Beauty Show in New Orleans Has Been Postponed Due To Spike In Covid 19

8/28/2021

Comments

Due to documented reports of exponential spikes in new Covid-19 cases across Louisiana, including the spread of the highly infectious Delta Variant, the 2021 Bronner Bros Beauty Show scheduled to take place August 28-30 in New Orleans (NOLA) has been postponed. The new date is to be determined and will be announced on the Bronner Bros. website. The decision was made to postpone due to the gravity of this ongoing public health emergency, particularly its negative impact on professionals in the beauty and barber industry.
The Bronner Bros team outlined initial plans in partnership with NOLA convention officials, including necessary precautions to host a safe show. However, given the current circumstances, Show management has decided to place the health and safety of all Show attendees first. Since there is no guarantee that everyone entering the venue will be fully vaccinated, free of the virus, or willing to take a COVID-19 test on site, the most effective way to keep everyone safe is to wait until the pandemic has ended or at least subsided to a better, new normal.
“This was a very hard decision, as we were excited about celebrating Bronner Bros. 75th Anniversary and welcoming the world’s most diverse group of beauty professionals to New Orleans,” said James Bronner, Senior Vice President and Show Director. “At this difficult time, I can only think of my father, Nathaniel H. Bronner, and how relevant his wise words are today: ‘Health is Wealth.’ Without our ability to ensure your SAFE participation in all three days, unfortunately the Show cannot go on. Our industry has lost a number of greats to this terrible disease. Our hearts go out to everyone negatively impacted by this pandemic.”

The REFUND PROCESS FOR SHOW ATTENDEES AND EXHIBITORS BEGAN WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 18th.

Picture
Attendees who purchased online automatically received a refund. To process refunds for purchases done through a distributor, please visit BronnerBros.com to complete an online form.
Bronner added, “We encourage everyone to do their part to keep our communities safe – mask up, practice social distancing and get vaccinated. Looking ahead, we are excited about celebrating with the entire beauty community— in a safe environment— at a later date.”
For questions, concerns and the latest Show information please visit, BronnerBros.com
