Adding to Marques’s downward spiral after devastating news, the Vipers introduce their new head of marketing Eden. And Eden comes along with new ideas, including some new teammates who pose a clash of egos. Thankfully, Marques’ father arrives with moral support; Meanwhile, Nia and Eric begin to dive deeper down a dangerous rabbit hole.

Today, we see Black culture recognized like never before in music, film, fashion, TV, sports, and more, however, that very same cultural recognition remains less credited in culinary arts.

OWN has partnered with discovery+ via the original series, “The Great Soul Food Cook-Off,” in a cooking competition that finally spotlights the culinary contributions of Black chefs with challenges designed to highlight the past and present of soul food.

Eight chefs will go head-to-head throughout the show in this high-stakes, spiritual, and emotional competition, but only one competitor can take home the grand prize of $50,000. 

The Great Soul Food Cook-Off,” a first-of-its-kind soul food cooking competition series celebrating Black chefs and the Black culinary traditions that are the cornerstone of American cuisine. The six-episode, one-hour series debuts on discovery+ on Saturday, November 20th, with new episodes every Saturday through December 18th

“The Great Soul Food Cook-Off” is hosted by acclaimed chef and television show host Kardea Brown. Brown will be joined by some of the world’s best chefs, Eric Adjepong and Melba Wilson as they critique the chefs’ weekly creations.

The movie is inspired by actual events from Slaton’s real-life cases, and she serves as a producer. 

​After a fight with her husband (Paul O’Brien, Home & Away, Neighbors), a tightly wound wife (Justine Kacir, Home & Away) follows him to his hometown of Sydney, Australia, in hopes of saving their marriage. Tracking him down proves complicated, and she must rely on an Aboriginal tour guide and a social media influencer ride-share driver to help - all just days before Christmas.

​A no-nonsense federal marshal (Arielle Kebbel, Ballers, The Vampire Diaries) is tasked with protecting a low-level, charming mobster (Colin Egglesfield, Rizzoli & Isles, All My Children) until he testifies against his mafia boss two days after Christmas. 

​Lana Lawton (Michelle Borth, Hawaii Five-O), a fledgling private eye home for the holidays, realizes the only way to save her career is by solving a string of local burglaries where the main suspect is Santa Claus. With little evidence and having to contend with a local detective with an investigative style that clashes with hers, the season may prove to be anything but holly and jolly. Vivica A. Fox co-stars as the head of a local detective agency.

​A single real estate agent (Clair Coffee, Grimm, Lincoln Rhymes - Hunt for the Bone Collector) falls for a handsome coffee shop owner (George Stults, 7th Heaven) - only to discover that the job she just took requires her to evict him from his shop. 

We just watched the official trailer for Being The Ricardos and I must admit.....We are hooked.

​The Rise and Shine: Ladies Who Brunch event created and curated by actress, producer and creator Malinda Williams took place over the weekend at the 1 Hotel in West Hollywood. The afternoon brunch gathered dynamic and accomplished women from all genres and influence in entertainment, executives and small business owners to network and celebrate black excellence. VIP guests in attendance included Niecy Nash, Vanessa Estelle Williams, Koshie Mills, Monique Coleman, Alexis Kerr and more!

The 2nd annual event was a hybrid, inclusive of an in-person brunch and a virtual experience hosted by Porsha Monique. Malinda's co-hosts of the Rise and Shine event were powerhouse celebrity publicist and TV Personality Kita Williams and best-selling author, transformational speaker and Editor-In-Chief of Cheryl Magazine, Cheryl P. Williamson. The women in attendance understood the assignment of celebrating sisterhood and female empowerment. The brunch was lavishly decorated with beautiful white and blush floral centerpieces.  A decadent buffet of tasty bites was provided and an atmosphere of transparency was created with an exchange of inspirational energy that was palpable. 

The RISE And SHINE: Ladies Who Brunch was hosted by philanthropist and actress Monique Coleman, with a special guest performance of “Sista” by actress Vanessa Estelle Williams who received a standing ovation. The powerhouse panelists included Alexis Kerr VP of (Hallmark Mahogany),  Melissa Butler creator of the (Lip Bar), actress Malinda Williams and Koshie Mills (Heirs of Afrika) served as panel moderator. Also, actress  Niecy Nash gave an impromptu inspirational message to the women in attendance. 
 
Every woman received curated “Authentically HER” boxes. Inside each box was a gold coin which represented developing and keeping a prosperous mindset, a bracelet to be worn as a daily reminder to affirm yourself with love, 2 affirmation cards and a pen to write affirmations of encouragement. The women were asked to exchange their cards with the woman next to them as an intentional action of being your sister’s keeper.
