Themed “Making The Case For Optimism“, the three-day event was a convergence of influential voices, groundbreaking discussions, and a glimpse into the future of technology. Day 1: Laying the Foundation for Hope
The first day kicked off with a live taping of the iHeart Black Effects Network Podcast, “Black Tech, Green Money with Will Lucas” featuring Cliff Worley from Kapor Capital discussing the potential of AI for small business success. The opening ceremony, opened with a performance by the Stephenson High School Sonic Sound, set the stage for discussions on financial inclusion, banking, and investing. The presence of Hon. Michael Hsu and John Hope Bryant (Founder, Chairman and CEO of Operation HOPE) highlighted the significance of topics such as cryptocurrency, the Community Reinvestment Act, and Project REACh.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, the day unfolded with masterclasses on branding and global prosperity featuring industry leaders Essence Gant, Alex Wagner, and Nikki Barjon. It was like a backstage pass to the wisdom of industry leaders, and Jermaine was living for every moment.
John Hope Bryant’s conversations with leaders from the US Census Bureau, UPS, and a panel on scaling small businesses in the global marketplace enriched the day with discussions on community growth, financial inclusion, and international business strategies. The day reached its pinnacle with an engaging dialogue between Charlamagne Tha God and John Bryant on “Creating The Black Effect”. If you’re not aware, the Black Effect Podcast Network is a groundbreaking platform that amplifies Black voices across various industries. Launched by media mogul Charlamagne Tha God, the network is a powerful force in podcasting, featuring a lineup of influential hosts and thought-provoking content.
A highlight of the day was the presentation of Sophia, an AI robot, which left the audience in awe and pondering the future of AI. Sam Altman of Open AI addressed concerns about AI, emphasizing its potential and the importance of ethical considerations. Bishop TD Jakes concluded the day with reflections on technology empowerment.
Day 3: Lessons, Longevity, and Truth
The final day began with Reggie Jackson sharing a lifetime of lessons, highlighting the struggles faced by black individuals in the 60s and 70s. Dr. Albert Bourla, CEO of Pfizer, virtually joined the conversation to discuss the future of longevity, drawing parallels between personal experiences and the development of life-changing vaccines.
The day continued with a discourse on the currency of credibility featuring Tip “T.I.” Harris, Ambassador Andrew Young, Anthony Scaramucci, and moderated by Mark Updegrove.
